Junior Penetration Tester

SuperiorPentest is seeking a Junior Penetration Tester!


Location: Budapest, Hungary

Work hours: flexible / home office

Salary: Competitive, depends on the candidate experience


ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The Junior Penetration Tester will be responsible for the following duties:


  • Understand the basics of penetration testing – network, web application, application/code review.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the penetration testing methodology laid out by the following standards
  • NIST, OWASP, OSSTMM, et al.
  • Familiarity with the command line interface of multiple operating systems – Windows, Linux, etc.
  • Fundamental understanding of scripting languages (one of the following) – python, powershell, ruby, perl.
  • Fundamental understanding of “coding languages” (one of the following) – – C++, C#, PHP, AJAX, HTML, etc.
  • Moderate experience with penetration testing tools – Burp, Metasploit, Nikto, SQLMAP, Responder, Nessus, netcat, etc.
  • Ability to work socially and efficiently in a team environment and receive direction from the senior members.
  • Ability to ask questions and gain further knowledge of problems that may arise during engagements.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


The successful candidate will have the following minimum requirements:


  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in information security in various security disciplines.
  • 1 year of experience working with command line.
  • Ability to analyze problems and overcome them with the help of team members.
  • Travel to client locations when necessary (10-20%).
  • Must be able to work independently without supervision.
  • Understanding of basic network protocols and their common port assignments


HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS


  • Possess any of the following – OSCP, OSWP, CEH, GPEN, eJPT, eCPPT.
  • CTF experience – Hackthebox, pentestit.ru, etc.
  • Previous penetration testing experience.
  • Previous compliance experience within the financial industry
  • Understanding of network protocols and common vulnerabilities associated with them.
